LGC is Hiring a Therapeutic Production Chemist I/II/III - Weekend Shift Near Petaluma, CA

Axolabs specialises in a new class of drugs whose active ingredients are chemically derived from DNA or RNA. They are called oligonucleotide or nucleic acid therapeutics. We use our many years of expertise to help our clients make them a success. Some of these drugs have already been approved and are being used successfully against diseases that were previously untreatable in some cases. New drugs from this class are added every year.

Job Description

The Therapeutic Production Chemist I/II/III will perform routine oligonucleotide manufacturing processes in the LGC Petaluma Therapeutic GMP suite. Processes include: synthesis, cleavage and deprotection, purification, desalting, and lyophilization of oligonucleotides.

This will be for the Weekend shift role 3/12 hour shifts. Friday through Sunday 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. There will be a 15% shift differential for this shift.

  • Perform manufacturing processes (synthesis, purification, desalt, freeze drying, etc) in accordance with the production schedule and maintain a high quality of work that aligns with internal standard operating procedures and cGMP protocols.
  • Work with an array of equipment (synthesizers, HPLC purifiers, HPLC columns, TFF skids, lyophilizers, etc) for production at various scales
  • Maintain batch records, logs, and other production records as directed per company procedures and cGMP protocols.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly laboratory environment through regular cleanings and organization that is in alignment with internal GMP SOPs
  • Develop best practices to facilitate execution of manufacturing operations in accordance with SOPs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in a relevant STEM field is required.
  • Experience level will be determined for Chemist I, II, III based on relevant experience and degree.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • cGMP experience is preferred and required for higher level openings.
  • Experience with oligonucleotide production is a huge plus.
  • Experience with instrumentation software, maintenance, and trouble shooting.
    • Professional presence and strong attention to detail is required.
    • Technical proficiency that enables effective execution of documented procedures.
    • Critical analysis and understanding of oligonucleotide manufacturing activities.
    • Proficient writing

The typical pay range for this role is:

Minimum: $ 25.075 /Hourly

Maximum: $ 41.792 / Hourly

This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for the California -based position. The actual base salary will depend on several factors such as: experience, skills, and location.
