LGIM America is Hiring an Analyst, Real Estate Equity Near Chicago, IL
OverviewTh e Analyst will be an integral part of the team , supporting the real estate equity platform in originating and the underwriting and execution of investments within specified strategies. We have recently launched our real estate equity platform in the U.S. based on the ethos and expertise built up over the last 50 years in the United Kingdom where we have assets under management of £22 billion. We have identified key sectors of interest namely life sciences, multi-family / single family housing and ESG in a real estate context. As an Analyst in our Real Estate Equity team, the candidate will provide analytical modeling and underwriting to support our disciplined investment underwriting and decision-making for real estate equity investments. The role will provide support to asset management in our execution of the investment strategy for closed investments This position will work closely with the Head of Real Estate Equity, US, the Head of Investment and Portfolio Management, and our acquisition and asset management teams. Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Real Estate Equity, US and Head of Investment, Real Estate Equity US , the position will focus on the firm’s long lease, multifamily, industrial, and build to rent strategies
Development of detailed financial models for potential investments
Manage deal pipeline workstreams
Market and submarket research support ; including front end due diligence/ market analysis and market analysis on existing investments
Help monitor, report, and execute on existing investments
Improve and develop analysis and reporting on key performance metrics
Create presentations for internal and external audiences
Support investment m emo writing and presentations
Assist in development of formal guidelines and procedures
Promote LGIM America culture and values.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, or related technical field
Strong analytical skills and experience with various software tools ( E xcel, PowerPoint, Yardi, Argus ) Coding ability a plus.
Communication skills, both written and verbal to work collaboratively with internal teams and direct interaction with senior staff
1-3 years’ experience working at a real estate investment company or financial services firm
Travel required.
