LHH Recruitment Solutions is Hiring a Human Resource Generalist Near Salem, OR

Job Description: Non-Profit HR Generalist
LHH Recruitment Solutions is excited to be partnering with a non-profit, mission-driven organization in the Woodburn, Oregon area for a Human Resource Generalist role. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth HR operations, implementing sound policies, and supporting our staff with integrity and compassion.
Essential Job Duties:
  • Enhance Human Resources: Develop and evaluate HR policies, programs, and practices to promote employee relations and organizational effectiveness.
  • Payroll Administration: Oversee payroll system and monthly processing to ensure accurate and timely payroll functions.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Coordinate recruitment efforts, conduct interviews, and manage orientation and training programs for new hires.
  • Employee Relations: Support staff through coaching, conflict resolution, and handling grievances, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Benefits Management: Administer employee benefits programs, assess needs, recommend programs, and educate staff on benefits.
  • Legal Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws, conduct investigations, maintain records, and represent the organization in hearings.
  • Policy Development: Prepare, update, and recommend HR policies and procedures in line with organizational goals and legal requirements.
  • Record Keeping: Establish and maintain effective filing systems for historical HR records.
  • Community Engagement: Participate in community outreach and fellowship activities to support the mission.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive in conflict situations.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state labor laws.
  • Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Valid OR State Driver’s License and access to own vehicle for occasional business needs.
  • Alignment with Union Gospel Mission of Salem’s Statement of Faith and Standards of Conduct.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; post-graduate degree in Business or Non-Profit Management preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar HR role, with previous senior management experience advantageous.

Benefits: Compensation: $80K DOE with competitive benefits
