LHH is Hiring an Accounting Manager Near Oakland, CA

LHH is seeking an Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller for a client in Oakland. This is a hybrid position which will require going on-site as well as working from home. Must have management experience with direct reports of 4 .

As the leader of the Corporate Accounting Team, the you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all accounting practices, as well as review and implementation of accounting policies and procedures as required by US GAAP. The position will manage all accounting functions including timely month-end close cycle, general ledger reconciliation, cash management, financial reporting, and analysis. You will be responsible for providing leadership, mentoring, and training to the accounting staff. The position will require open communication skills with all areas and levels of the organization. The position will manage the accounting staff, both in the US and Manila, PH. The role will work cooperatively with all areas of the business including operations, sales, marketing, and IT and participate in cross-functional leadership meetings to help drive process improvement and maximize efficiencies.

II. Essential Duties, Responsibilities And activities

  • Ensure the financial and administrative framework for operations are effective and include strong financial controls.
  • Drive the month-end and year-end close process to include General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, Billing, Payroll, Bank Reconciliations and all fiduciary accounting, tracking and prioritizing projects and tasks to meet a constant stream of closing deadlines.
  • Produces regular and complex weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual accounting reporting, assists management with custom analysis of key issues and development of budgets, assists with technical accounting research, documents new policies and procedures and drives improvement to those currently in place.
  • Manage corporate and fiduciary cash flows, ensuring funds are maintained according to the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Lead the annual year-end audit process with the external auditors, with involvement in additional audits pertaining to ACH, credit card, information security and privacy.
  • Manage our various U.S. and foreign tax requirements, such as income tax, real and personal property, payroll, franchise, sales and use taxes.
  • Prepare work papers to assist external CPA with the annual and quarterly tax provisions and filings.
  • Reporting and supporting the requests of leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned

Educations and Experience

  • BS/BA, finance, accounting, economics or related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 3-5 years progressive experience in accounting or financial management and reporting
  • ERP systems implementation and financial process automation, preferred
  • 1 or more years of full cycle budgeting and forecasting experience
  • 2-4 years of supervisory experience
  • Strong technical experience and proven ability to quickly learn new software. Expert Excel knowledge with experience in one or more full-scale ERP system(s), Microsoft Dynamics a plus.

Pay rate is between $65hr to $75hr based on skills and background.
