LHH is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for our client in the Northridge, CA area! The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing timely and accurate payments to vendors and providers, maintaining files, reconciling payments, and addressing inquiries. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the financial operations of the company run smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Encode check requests, invoices, credit card reconciliations, and employee business and mileage reimbursement requests.
- Perform daily reviews of vendor setups, records, and direct deposit data entry.
- Print vendor checks with accompanying reports and maintain corresponding filing.
- Review all company credit card reconciliations and check requests for accuracy, policy compliance, completeness, and required supporting documentation.
- Match invoices against purchase orders and packing slips. Review invoices for completeness, accuracy, and policy compliance.
- Communicate and follow up with vendors, departments, and employees regarding any pending issues related to purchase orders, check requests, employee reimbursements, provider payments, corporate credit cards, and fuel cards.
- Provide assistance with yearly audits, sales tax reporting, and unclaimed property reporting.
- Prepare audit schedules for annual financial audits and audits by funders/grantors as assigned. Assist auditors as needed.
- Identify and implement improvements and efficiencies to internal processes.
- Perform research and analysis on projects as requested by the Accounting Supervisor or Accounting Manager.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Proven working experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
- Familiarity with accounts payable processes and accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong data entry skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
