Job Summary:
The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist will play a crucial role in managing the company’s accounts payable functions. This position requires a tenured professional with extensive experience in accounts payable processes, strong analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of ensuring timely and accurate payments, maintaining strong vendor relationships, and improving AP processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Review and process invoices, expense reports, and payment requests.
- Verify and reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Manage the AP ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
- Develop and implement best practices and process improvements.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior AP staff.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and resolve issues.
- Assist in audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of accounts payable experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and AP processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
