Title: Control & Automation Engineer

Salary: $130,000-$150,000

Gas-fired boilers

• Design and review electrical control systems for industrial boilers, electrode, and electric boilers.
• Utilize AutoCAD software to prepare schematic wiring diagrams.
• Develop PLC logic programs for boilers and burners.
• Select components meeting customer specifications and code requirements.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, UL, CSA codes.
• Collaborate with shop assemblers to verify practical fabrication.
• Maintain UL files and records for listed products.
• Assist customers and service technicians with troubleshooting control systems and PLC logic remotely or on-site.
• Write technical documents and operation instructions for electrical control systems and PLC logic.
• Support other departments in product development, service inquiries, purchasing, and manufacturing improvements.
• Assist in developing alternative solutions for lead-lag applications and exploring alternatives to PLCs in simple control systems.
• Mentor and train field service personnel and less experienced electrical designers and programmers.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical background required.
• 2 years’ experience with PLC programming (Siemens and Allen-Bradley), and 3-5 years electrical engineering experience.
• Proficiency in reading mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation drawings.
• Expertise in basic office computer software.
• Proficient in AutoCAD for drawing creation and editing, experience with Solid Works is a plus.
• Experience in the boiler industry and knowledge of ASME Pressure Vessel Codes preferred.
• Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
• Physical demands include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and occasional lifting up to 15 pounds.
• Office-based work environment with low to moderate exposure to noise, heat, and cold.
