LHH is Hiring a Buyer Near Pleasant Prairie, WI

As a Buyer, you will play a critical role in the procurement process, responsible for sourcing, selecting, and purchasing goods and services essential for our client’s operations team. Your primary objective will be to ensure the timely acquisition of quality products at the most favorable terms while adhering to budgetary constraints and maintaining strong vendor relationships. This is a Direct Hire opportunity located in Pleasant Prairie, WI.
Responsibilities:
  • Identify and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, availability, reliability, and selection.
  • Negotiate and secure favorable terms and pricing agreements with suppliers.
  • Place purchase orders for materials, supplies, and equipment as per established procurement policies and procedures.
  • Monitor market trends and product availability to anticipate potential shortages or price fluctuations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and specifications.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers.
  • Conduct regular vendor evaluations and performance reviews to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.
  • Resolve issues and disputes with vendors in a timely and professional manner.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to optimize supplier relationships and improve supply chain efficiency.
  • Coordinate with inventory and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs.
  • Monitor inventory levels and track usage patterns to anticipate demand and avoid stockouts.
  • Implement inventory control measures to reduce shrinkage, obsolescence, and waste.
  • Work closely with suppliers and logistics partners to streamline delivery schedules and minimize lead times.
  • Analyze pricing proposals, quotes, and bids to determine the most cost-effective purchasing options.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for procurement activities, ensuring adherence to financial constraints and targets.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings through bulk purchasing, strategic sourcing, and alternative suppliers.
  • Monitor and report on procurement-related expenses, variances, and trends.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and vendor agreements.
  • Generate reports and documentation for internal and external audits as required.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, procurement, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in a similar industry or organization.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and MS Office suite.
  • Solid understanding of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and functions.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) is a plus.
