Dispatch Manager- Olathe, KS LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a client in Olathe, KS looking to fill their Dispatcher Manager role. This position will be responsible for supervising, monitoring activities and providing direction to drivers to ensure safe and timely delivery of freight. This is a TEMP-TO-HIRE opportunity, that is fully onsite DAY SHIFT from 5 am-5pm- 4 days on, 3 days off, offering $50,000 annually. Responsibilities:
Supervises, monitors activities and provides direction to drivers to ensure safe and timely delivery of freight.
Proceeds on own initiative with little guidance.
Communicates with drivers on an ongoing basis, primarily via telephone and mobile communication messaging.
Provides ongoing feedback to direct reports regarding their personal performance, both positive and constructive.
Takes disciplinary action as necessary to correct performance issues inconsistent with policies, procedures, or the direction of the department.
Determines when it is necessary to terminate direct report employees for performance issues.
Addresses disciplinary issues with employed drivers:
Discusses the incident; Covers the violation of company policy or SOP’s;
Provides guidance as to how the issue should have been handled or could have been avoided;
Informs the driver further disciplinary actions may lead to further disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Documents the incident to be scanned to the employee's personnel file.
Initiates employee terminations in accordance with SOP’s.
Provides ongoing feedback to independent contractors regarding their service levels.
Initiates termination of Independent Contractor Agreements in accordance with SOP’s.
Monitors driver turnover in assigned fleet and actively works to maintain at an acceptable level within company parameters.
Works with the driver and other departments to resolve issues/problems to ensure driver retention.
Provide feedback to Fleet Managers on an ongoing basis regarding drivers’ performance levels.
Qualifications:
3 years of previous experience in Dispatching & Management experience
Strong Microsoft Office Suite software experience and TMS
Excellent written and verbal communication
