Job Description:Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Estimator to join their team at a leading electrical contractor based in Charlotte, NC. This is a hybrid position offering the flexibility of remote work along with in-office collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and extensive experience in electrical estimation.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to understand the scope of work and project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and comprehensive estimates.
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and provide value engineering solutions to optimize project budgets.
- Maintain and update a database of historical cost data, unit prices, and other relevant information for use in future estimates.
- Prepare bid proposals, including detailed cost breakdowns and supporting documentation, for submission to clients.
- Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings to gather necessary information and assess project conditions.
- Monitor market trends, industry standards, and material prices to ensure estimates reflect current conditions.
- Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and evaluate their bids for accuracy and completeness.
- Support business development efforts by providing cost estimates and technical expertise for proposals and presentations.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in electrical estimation, preferably with a background in electrical contracting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex project documents and specifications.
- Proficiency in estimation software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of estimating.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and attend meetings as required.
