We are in search of an experienced accounting professional for a new Bookkeeper job opening in Columbus, OH. In this role, you will be tasked with managing and maintaining financial records, including the handling of accounts payable and receivable, recording financial transactions, and completing annual tax forms. This role reports directly to senior leadership and will oversee one direct report. Our client has a great working environment and rarely has openings!
Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers in compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Record daily financial transactions in company accounting software.
• Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
• Record and reconcile all transactions in the general ledger.
• Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets and income statements.
• Ensure all transactions are properly recorded and entered into the company's ERP system.
• Assist with tax audit and tax return preparation.
• Manage payroll function and ensure all salary entries comply with current income tax legislation.
• Liaise with external auditors and manage internal controls.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience as a Bookkeeper, Accountant or Accounting Manager
• Experience utilizing ERP software
• Experience working in a small to mid-sized environment preferred
• Ability to communicate regularly with internal and external stakeholders
