Job Description
This position has responsibility of day-to-day communications support for key corporate functions and business units within Tenet. The communications manager will be responsible for working collaboratively with key stakeholders, assisting to build communications vehicles and ongoing communications, and ensuring effectiveness of communications for various business initiatives This role will also assist in tailoring communications initiatives for specific business units and markets as needed. The individual will support the VP of Communications in other projects as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with various corporate function and business unit leaders to strategize and develop communications to business objectives.
  • Effectively define issues and goals, collect data, and establish facts, as well as draw valid conclusions to develop communication strategies and plans.
  • Use strong writing skills to review or draft content including but not limited to media statements, press releases and internal communications.
  • Leverage this content to create dynamic materials, messaging, events, and forums across multiple channels, in collaboration with Communications and Marketing teams.
  • Execute communication plans in a timely manner, measure success of all activities to refine and adjust as needed.
  • Support VP of Communications on various projects, as needed, and act as liaison between communications and the business units.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English or Marketing.
  • At least 5 years of experience in communications, journalism, and / or public relations.
  • Preference for experience in healthcare or a related industry.
  • Must be good at writing content.
  • Effective communication skills; both orally and written.
  • Ability to effectively engage key stakeholders and present information to management.
  • Collaborates with other Communications team members on shared ideas and projects.
  • Effectively manages multiple communications requests under tight deadlines.
  • Operates smoothly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Delivers high quality deliverables in a timely manner.

Responsibilities
Develop press releases, letters and memos, speeches video scripts, presentation, etc., for normal course and project- specific course.
Provide media relations counsel and support, including responding to media inquiries, and targeting profile-raising opportunities in key national, local and trade press.
Assist with the development of strategic messaging to be used in company materials and help to maintain/update those documents on a regular basis.
Lead in the creation of materials to support company/ executive recognitions.
Develop processes and a forum for vetting and managing speaking requests on behalf of company executives.
Assist with the planning of company conferences and other events.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Communications, English, Journalism or a related field. must have a minimum of 6-8 years of in-house or agency communications experience, including direct media relations experience. Must posses excellent writing, editing and researching skills. Must be experienced in Word or PowerPoint . Must be able to project- manage.
