Not for Profit seeks Controller 3 days in office

Salary $135,000 - $145,000

CPA required

A well established Not for profit with an operating budget that exceed $150 million is seeking a Controller to join their finance team. The company offers lots of upside career potential and the opportunity to continue to build the accounting team. The company offers generous benefits and flexibility ( 3 days in office) The position reports to the CFO who takes a personal interest in bringing team members to the next level in their career. The department has strong controls and processes and an established team. Below is a list of some of the core responsibilities of the role.

· Oversee all general accounting responsibilities, i.e. supporting all line items on the audited financial statements

· Ensure monthly close is performed accurately and timely

· Maintain the general ledger

· Experience assessing internal controls and developing remediation to mitigate risk

· Review and provide supporting documentation to the external auditors

· Review 990 , CHAR 5500 and other regulatory reporting

· Supervise a staff of 5 accounting professionals

· Development of metrics to monitor the organization and the program’s effectiveness and efficiencies

The ideal candidate must possess a BA in Accounting and a CPA

Supervisory experience is critical since the role will be reviewing as opposed to performing the duties

Ability to present information to senior management and strong user of at accounting systems.
