LHH is Hiring a Payroll Specialist Near St Louis, MO

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking candidates with multi-state union and non-union payroll experience for an immediate need in St. Louis, MO. Ideal candidates will have experience managing payroll processes for both union and non-union employees across multiple states. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll regulations and the ability to handle complex payroll systems efficiently.
Job Title: Multi-State Payroll Specialist (Union and Non-Union)
Job Type: Direct Hire/Permanent
Location: St. Louis, MO
Schedule: Monday-Friday; Flexible; Full-time in-office training period, then hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days remote).Salary Range: $65,000 - $72,000 per year (flexible upon experience)Benefits: Health/Dental/Vision/401k/PTO/Holidays/HYBRID working schedule post-trainingKey Responsibilities:
  • Process full-cycle payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Handle payroll for both union and non-union employees, understanding the nuances and specific requirements of each group.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of wages, deductions, benefits, and taxes.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including changes in salaries, benefits, and deductions.
  • Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve employee payroll issues promptly.
  • Prepare and submit payroll reports to management and relevant authorities.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance departments to ensure alignment and accuracy of payroll data.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations and implement necessary changes to company payroll processes.
  • Assist with year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation and distribution.
  • Support audits related to payroll and ensure compliance with internal controls and procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
  • 3 years of payroll processing experience, with a focus on multi-state payroll preferred
  • Experience with union payroll is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Pay Details: $65,000.00 to $72,000.00 per year
