LHH is Hiring a Project Engineer Near Portland, OR
Position Summary: The Project Manager (Engineering) will play a crucial role in managing and executing engineering projects across various manufacturing settings. This role will initially focus on overseeing safety operations and compliance, followed by managing full-scope design and installation projects. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in engineering project management, with a strong emphasis on safety standards and process development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead safety operations management in collaboration with clients and internal safety personnel, ensuring compliance with OHSA standards, conducting lock out/tag out audits, and performing pre-job safety inspections.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of facility and industrial engineering projects, including internal facility improvements, equipment installations, and comprehensive facility redesign projects (e.g., roofing upgrades).
- Develop project scopes, manage contracts and vendors, and oversee project budgets ranging from $20,000 to $3 million.
- Implement process development initiatives, particularly around instrumentation and equipment for manufacturing parts, fostering efficiency and safety enhancements.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across project teams and stakeholders to ensure project milestones and deliverables are achieved on time and within budget.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degree or certifications preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in project management within manufacturing environments, emphasizing safety protocols and process development.
- Expertise in OHSA standards, conducting safety audits (OHSA 10/30 certification preferred), and implementing safety inspections.
- Experience with facility design and management, including HVAC systems and other industrial engineering projects.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external clients.

- Competitive salary range: $80,000 - $110,000, commensurate with experience.
