As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in the full-cycle accounting of specific entities within our organization. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of accounting functions, including transaction processing, financial reporting, variance analysis, and loan portfolio management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage the accounting functions for assigned entities, including processing or reviewing daily transactions, calculating borrower interest and escrows, updating amortization schedules, and processing debt service payments.
• Oversee a portfolio of commercial real estate loans, ensuring compliance with varying requirements and regulations, reviewing and analyzing complex loan agreements, and processing borrower payments and adjustments.
• Conduct reconciliation of various General Ledger accounts, including escrow cash accounts and liability accounts as needed, and handle the month-end close process to ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, and collaborate with the Tax department as needed.
• Actively participate in implementing new accounting processes and streamlining existing processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Assist with special projects and functions as required, including preparing unique analyses and reports for Management and Operations.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in banking, commercial lending, or real estate.
• Demonstrated experience with GAAP accounting for commercial lending activities, including financial statement preparation and analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in communication.
• Experience working with business owners is advantageous.
