LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst for a market leading client located in Detroit, MI. The Senior Financial Analyst will be involved in SEC financial reporting and providing technical accounting guidance to internal constituents in accordance with US GAAP.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the implementation of new accounting pronouncements and research related to financial presentation and disclosures.
• Provide information to external auditors on emerging accounting issues and reporting matters.
• Provides accounting guidance on accounting related matters with supervision.
• Research current and emerging accounting issues and implements related accounting policies and procedures.
• Assists with compliance with GAAP and regulatory accounting and prepares accounting analysis and whitepapers.
• Analyze business transactions and propose appropriate accounting treatment.
• Compile’s information to assist with the preparation of external financial reports in compliance with SEC and other regulatory reporting requirements.
• Prepares drafts of financial statements and footnotes with supervision.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; advanced degree preferred
• Three or more years of experience in auditing, financial accounting and/or financial reporting
• Prior Big 4 or large regional public accounting firm experience
• CPA
• Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and SEC reporting requirements experience in application of a broad range of technical accounting and reporting requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to organize work independently and work in teams.
• Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to concisely analyze, summarize and present financial information to large and/or small audiences.
