Who We AreLiberation Programs is one of Fairfield County's leading behavioral health organizations specializing in treatment for all types of substance use disorders including alcohol, opiates, depressants and stimulants. Our goal is to help individuals and families overcome addiction in order to restore their lives and ultimately strengthen our communities. Liberation provides services for youth, adults and families that include two inpatient treatment programs, outpatient and intensive outpatient services, health education for older adults and people living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses, treatment and resources for adolescents and their families, education and prevention efforts in the community, and permanent supportive housing for families. In operation since 1971, the agency has sites in Greenwich, Stamford, Norwalk and Bridgeport and served more than 2,400 individuals in our last fiscal year.

Liberation Program's is hiring a Full Time Nursing Coordinator to play a crucial role in overseeing nursing operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care within our Bridgeport, Norwalk and Stamford locations.
Major Duties And Responsibilities2. Patient Care Management3. Quality Assurance:4. Community Engagement5. Administrative Duties:
  • Clinical Leadership
  • Provide leadership and supervision to nursing staff, including Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and best practices.
  • Conduct regular nursing staff meetings to facilitate communication, address concerns, and provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Assist with routine supervision and annual reviews for ancillary staff.
  • Oversee the assessment, treatment, and monitoring of patients receiving methadone maintenance therapy and other medication-assisted treatments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and clinical guidelines.
  • Collaborate with physicians, counselors, and other members of the treatment team to develop individualized care plans and coordinate comprehensive services for patients.
  • Implement quality assurance measures to evaluate the effectiveness of nursing care, identify areas for improvement, and ensure compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits of nursing documentation, medication administration practices, and infection control procedures to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
  • Serve as a liaison between Liberation Programs and external healthcare providers, community organizations, and regulatory agencies to promote collaboration, advocacy, and awareness of substance use recovery services.
  • Participate in community outreach activities, educational events, and networking opportunities to enhance the visibility and impact of Liberation Programs within the local communities.
  • Manage nursing schedules, staffing assignments, and workload distribution to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operations across multiple clinic locations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and protocols related to nursing practice, medication management, and emergency response protocols.
  • Assist with semi-annual medication training for inpatient staff.
Experience And Education Requirements
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Connecticut
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in addiction treatment, behavioral health, or related field.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting, with strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
  • Knowledge of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) protocols, opioid use disorder (OUD) treatment modalities, and harm reduction principles.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
  • Commitment to upholding ethical standards, confidentiality, and cultural competency in the delivery of patient-centered care.
