Who We AreLiberation Programs is one of Fairfield County's leading behavioral health organizations specializing in treatment for all types of substance use disorders including alcohol, opiates, depressants and stimulants. Our goal is to help individuals and families overcome addiction in order to restore their lives and ultimately strengthen our communities. Liberation provides services for youth, adults and families that include two inpatient treatment programs, outpatient and intensive outpatient services, health education for older adults and people living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses, treatment and resources for adolescents and their families, education and prevention efforts in the community, and permanent supportive housing for families. In operation since 1971, the agency has sites in Greenwich, Stamford, Norwalk and Bridgeport and served more than 2,400 individuals in our last fiscal year.
Liberation Programs is seeking an LPN or RN for our Residential Inpatient Program in Stamford. The Residential Nurse helps carry out the agency mission and duties of the medical services unit.
DUTIES
  • Oversee the self-medication management for Recoveree's in our Inpatient Residential program
  • Provide Recoveree education on medication, side effects, and medical condition
  • Review Medication Forms daily and arrange for prescriptions to be filled/refilled timely
  • Oversee catalog and storage of medication
  • Ensure that the Medication Rooms and MAR are well-organized and in compliance
  • Consult psychiatric and medical staff as needed to ensure the well-being and safety of Recoverees
  • Attend Staff Meetings, and provide related staff education
  • Assess clients prior to administration of methadone medication to ensure proper dosage is administered.
  • Coordinate clients' dosage change requests with counselor and medical staff.
  • Provide coverage for LPN staff, including methadone dispensing in Stamford & Bridgeport.
Qualifications
  • Current CT Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Three to five years of direct patient care in hospital, primary care, psychiatric facility or home care. Experience in substance abuse/methadone dispensing preferred.
  • Knowledge of the principles of addiction treatment. Practical experience in the field of addiction treatment is preferred.
  • A work history that demonstrates leadership, accomplishment and the ability to get work accomplished on time and within predetermined specifications.
  • Computer skills, with demonstrated ability with Microsoft Outlook.
  • Familiarity with methadone dispensing software.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills along with the interpersonal skills to work effectively at all levels of the organization and its stakeholders.
Eligible candidates can earn a $5,000 sign-on bonus, to be paid after 6-months working full-time in our Inpatient Residential Programs!What We Offer
