Jersey City based real estate company is seeking a well-organized, detailed oriented property accountant. Some of the responsibilities include:
ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed monthly and year-end work papers
Manage all accrual and cash basis accounting functions for the portfolio of properties
Strong ability to reconcile accounts, expenses, perform various analyses, and monthly/quarterly reports, with excellent attention to detail
Review monthly budget to actual variance reports and prepare variance explanations
Review bank loan balances, as well as, escrows & reserves
Review general ledger activity and oversee monthly bank reconciliation processes
Perform bank reconciliations, related entries, and report monthly cash balances
Monitoring daily cash position of multiple bank accounts
Review and approve all payables
Review tenant ledgers and reconcile billings
Maintain fixed asset ledger and tenant amortizations
Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting
Minimum 3 years at property accountant level
Strong financial acumen and ability to understand retail real estate operating statements
Working knowledge of GAAP accounting with respect to residential real estate properties
Demonstrates strong organizational and multitasking skills
Team player
Yardi Voyager experience a MUST
Advanced in Excel
Able to perform with limited supervision
