Growing real estate group in Philadelphia (Old City) is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Manager to join their team! The qualified candidate must be CPA certified and have a strong foundation consisting of both public accounting and real estate industry experience.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare financial statements for various property types following GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Oversee the consolidation of financial data from multiple properties and investment vehicles.
Manage the process of external audits and ensure adherence to reporting deadlines.
Coordinate with external auditors to provide necessary information and address inquiries.
Stay updated on real estate accounting standards and industry best practices.
Real Estate Expertise:
Analyze financial performance of real estate holdings and identify areas for improvement.
Prepare reports on key metrics like occupancy rates, rent collection, and operating expenses.
Support with budgeting and forecasting for real estate projects.
Collaborate with property managers to ensure accurate and timely data collection for financial reporting.
Management and Communication:
Lead and supervise a team of accounting professionals involved in real estate financial reporting.
Communicate complex financial information to senior management and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
Maintain strong relationships with internal departments (property management, acquisitions, etc.) and external auditors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license preferred.
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in financial reporting, within the real estate industry.
Strong understanding of GAAP and real estate accounting principles.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in accounting software and financial modeling tools.
