Job Description SummaryThe Faculty Support Coordinator (FSC) works directly with the School of Aeronautics academic leadership to provide administrative assistance to faculty for course assignments, course management, and course development. Serves as a representative, supports, and provides assistance to the Chairs and will assist the Associate Dean of Academics for the School of Aeronautics with the following functions:
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
  • Works directly with the School of Aeronautics Chairs to provide administrative assistance to faculty for course assignments, course management, and course development.
  • Serves and supports the School of Aeronautics Chairs and provides support to the Flight Training Affiliates as assigned.
  • Serves as a representative of the School of Aeronautics Chairs and is empowered to speak to issues as deemed necessary by the Chairs.
  • Receives, manages, and enforces imperatives of the Chairs, Associate Dean (AD), Dean, and Vice Provost.
  • Receives faculty teaching assignments from the School of Aeronautics Chairs and submits course assignments to operations.
  • Monitors faculty load and enrollment load into courses. Works with various departments to ensure compliance.
  • Supports faculty by responding to all questions related and procedures, technical issues, compensation, teaching load, future scheduling of courses, training, W-9, etc.
  • Monitor Faculty/LMS compliancy to ensure the student experience is consistent and exceptional.
  • Organizes and oversees textbook distribution to all faculty teaching a specific course for the first time.
  • Collects and reviews all assessment and course evaluations from the School of Aeronautics Chairs and reports all faculty assessments and course evaluations to the Chairs.
  • Coordinates hiring and training of new faculty.
  • Communicates with the School of Aeronautics Chairs to maintain and update the FCC, FPT, FHT, etc.
  • Work closely with the School of Aeronautics Chairs, to ensure cross-functioning teams (SOA Academics and FTA Office).
  • Assist and coordinate with School of Aeronautics Chairs to ensure student academic success. This would include running and reviewing data to ensure SOA academics are meeting goals and reaching all students.
  • Assist with requisite compliance and FTA availability ensuring students are enrolled in the correct courses and local FTA has availability to meet the flight needs of the flight student.
  • Continuously reviews data to ensure the program is meeting academic goals and objectives. Provides reports as requested.
  • Assist the School of Aeronautics Chairs with course content revisions, corrections as needed, professor compliances and expectations.
  • Work with the School of Aeronautics Chairs to identify risks and opportunities to further enhance the SOA program as well as FTA operations.
  • Provides guidance for students regarding enrollment/advising matters. This includes issues that may arise with overrides, extensions, and incompletes.
  • Facilitates all communication correspondence. Responsible for external department communication. Email -Promptly responds to both internal and external emails.
    • Facilitate the R-ATP process for the School of Aeronautics
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications And CredentialsEducation and Experience
Required Qualifications
  • Understanding of how to research and use knowledge in strategic planning for student support services
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Organization, leadership, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree in higher education administration with knowledge of student development and learning theory
  • Understanding of how to use CRM, Course Registration Tool, Qualtrics, Excel, Outlook, Kaltura, Tableau, and ARGOS
