School Social Worker – The Licking County ESC has an immediate opening for a School Social Worker to be work at the NCS Digital Academy for the 2024-25 school year. This position will remain open until the successful candidate if found.Qualifications:•Bachelor’s plus Degree in Social Work•Holds a valid School Social Work License or willing to get one•Acceptable to the Building Principal, Supervisor of Special Programming and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Staff DevelopmentSalary: dependent on qualificationsContracted Days: 183 (follow school calendar for teachers)Assigned Building: NCS DigitalPurpose: The school social worker promotes and enhances the overall academic mission by providing services that strengthen home/school community partnerships and alleviate barriers to learning for students.Duties: •Act as liaison between home/school/community agencies•Be aware of the social and emotional needs of each individual student•Act as a resource re: community agencies and available services for families•Becomes familiar with relevant aspects of students’ background knowledge and experiences through record reviews, conversations with staff and students•Develops positive relationships with students, parents/guardians and staff•Establishes clear goals for each case and works with student, staff and parents to achieve them•Provides positive approach to problem-solving with student•Is easily accessible to parents/guardians through phone contacts, home visits and or appointments at the school•Available to staff for consultations and/or class presentations•Available to assist students/staff in situations of crisis•Available to attend intervention, evaluation and IEP meetings as needed•Is knowledgeable of district policies and procedures and acts accordingly•Communicates effectively with building principal, supervisor, and community agencies as necessary•Assumes responsibility for her/his own continued professional development•Maintain necessary documentation of cases and outcomes and completes required paperwork on time•Other duties as assigned
