Life Academy in Roanoke, VA is looking for one cafeteria coordinator to join our outstanding early childhood team. We are located at 7422 Deer Branch Rd. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, punctual, and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations
• Cook dishes to CACFP standards
• Anticipate needs of available food and act accordingly; keeping inventory and order from our suppliers on schedule.
• Follow and maintain health and safety guidelines
• Manage the food service operation including the food prep, production, & service, sanitation, plus total operation of the kitchen facility
• Receive, store, handle, prepare, & serve food according to established standards
• Shop, purchase & stock food as needed
• Ensure that sanitary & safety practices comply with all federal, state, & local regulations
• Prepare lunches & snacks for the various age groups following the Federal & State Regulations
• Ability to work with children of varied ages

Qualifications

• Experience working as a cook
• Ability to work with a team towards success
• Strong communication skills with adults and children.
• Familiarity with cooking equipment and utensils

• We are regulated by the Va. DOE, VDH, and CACFP as it pertains to our food service.

Normal schedule is 6:30am-2:30pm Monday-Friday

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays. Compensation is $13.50 - $15.00/hour.
