Position Details:

• Accountant
• Salary Range: $69,000 - $73,000 annually
• Full-Time, Exempt
• 40 hours per week
• Fully Onsite Position in Hayward, CA

Essential Job Responsibilities: 

• Own the chart of accounts, ensuring that all systems and workflows are updated when changes are made. Train staff on usage to ensure consistency
• Manage cash including cash needs projections, weekly sweep to interest-bearing account, and monthly bank reconciliations
• Analyze revenue and expenses, and generate monthly financial statements
• Manage accounting for construction in progress, expense allocations, revenue recognition, leases and loan. 
• Manage credit card accounts-additions, terminations, reconciliation submissions
• Manage merchant processing, online refunds, statement generation, user training
• Own the purchase requisition/order process review for correct accounts and adequate description. Train new users
• Assist with the PBC requests of external auditors
• Prepare and submits annual property tax exemptions and returns
• Support in the annual budget process by gathering and entering data, and preparing analysis as directed
• Provide training and guidance to the Payroll and Accounts Payable Clerk, as needed 
• Evaluate department systems and processes on an ongoing basis. Make recommendations to enhance internal controls and improve efficiency. 
• Perform confidential, technical and complex duties
• Handle ad-hoc financial reports and projects as assigned 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of general accounting experience 
• Clear and constructive communicator with strong organizational skills.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel 
• Great Plains and accounting integration experience is a plus.
• Detail oriented with attention to accuracy and efficiency.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Works well in a fast-paced environment with minimum supervision.
• Strong communication skills with ability to anticipate needs and manage expectations.
