Life Pacific University (LPU) seeks candidates for a full-time faculty position under the Department of Business & Management in the School of Arts & Sciences (SAS). The department houses our Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration (BUS), our Online BA in Organizational Management (BAOM) and the Masters in Business Administration (MBA). For nearly 100 years Life Pacific University has educated a diverse student body for service to God in the Church, the workplace, and the world. The preferred start-date for this full-time position is August 2024. The position involves teaching mostly in our undergraduate BUS program at our San Dimas campus and assisting the chair of the department with program related activities such as assessment, internships, committee, and program development. This is a full-time teaching position. The BUS program is on campus and the faculty member will be expected to be physically present to teach at the San Dimas location.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Life Pacific University seeks candidates for an Instructor/Faculty position in our Business & Management Department. This role involves teaching 12 units per semester (24 total), minimum of 4 courses per semester with potential to teach more courses with additional compensation. Other duties include being part of the academic committee for this department, supporting the chair, student advising, program assessment and other duties. The position holds academic faculty status and rank. The faculty member reports directly to the Chair of the department, as well as the Dean of the school of Arts and Sciences, and the Provost.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Serves on the Academic Committee for the department of Business & Management.
• Teaches 24 units in an academic year.
• Oversee BUS internships, including site development, student placement, and student/site completion.
• Supports the Chair of BM with promotion of the program/s and events related with the department.
• Models best instructional practices in the classroom setting and guides colleagues in adopting and improving those practices.
• Provides support with program assessment and program review as needed.
• Faculty advising every semester for department.
• Engages in scholarly and/or professional activities.
• Actively integrates Christian faith into professional practice and models caring relationships and Christian example for students as an effective role model of a Christian life.
• Accomplish other duties as assigned by the Chair of BM and Dean of SAS.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum of an MBA, a Masters in Management or related fields (terminal degree preferred). 
• Teaching experience.
• Shows willingness and ability to apply the Christian worldview in course design, instruction, and advising.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Computer knowledge/skills: working knowledge of Windows-based computers; Microsoft Word, Excel.
• Committed to establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students, faculty, and staff, and the general constituency of Life Pacific.
• Demonstrated Christian faith consistent with Life Pacific University commitment to The Foursquare Church Denomination. Faculty must align to our Pentecostal/Charismatic and Wesleyan Arminian stance (must be able to sign Life Pacific’s Statement of Faith and align with its position on Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity).

Candidates must be Christian believers holding a Pentecostal/charismatic perspective and will be required to adhere to the University’s statement of faith and mission. If appointed as a minister, the employee will be available to provide pastoral care and prayer. In addition, s/he may be called upon to perform sacerdotal duties upon request of the University.
