JOB SUMMARY:
In collaboration with the Executive Director (ED) and Marketing Director, the Development Director is responsible for meeting specific annual revenue, donor cultivation and stewardship goals, contributing to the overall achievement of LSA’s fundraising goals. Lead implementation of the strategic direction, work plan/programs that cultivate, solicit and steward individual, corporations and family foundation donors. Partners with the Marketing Department for outreach and external communication designed to expand awareness in the community of LSA and its unique contributions and value.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
Demonstrated proficiency with donor data bases and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Goggle docs.
Minimum 5 years fundraising experience.
Marketing and non-profit experience preferred.
Experience in grant seeking, writing and administration.
Familiarity with social media communication such as Facebook, You Tube, Instagram, and so on.
Must be able to work independently and collaboratively, and be self-motivated.
Willingness and ease in soliciting funding from individuals, corporate sources and foundations.
Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to work with donors, board members, staff, volunteers and vendors.
Ability to think strategically and creatively, including the ability to initiate and set priorities.
Excellent communication skills, especially strategic relationship building, public speaking and fundraising.
EDUCATION: BA Degree

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Working Conditions: Work is primarily performed in an indoor, climate-controlled environment and is nearly absent from disagreeable elements (e.g., irate customers, extreme noise, heat, odors, heights and/or dust). This position is a combination of in office presence and working from home.
Risk/Safety Conditions: There is little or no risk related to physical and/or mental health and safety associated with this position.
Essential Physical Activities: Walking, sitting, hearing, seeing up close, talking, standing, finger movement, repetitive motions. Able to lift up to 25 lbs. and ask for assistance when needed.
