Life University is Hiring an Assistant Dean, College of Chiropractic Near Marietta, GA

Life University is looking for an experienced individual to serve the mission of Life University by providing leadership and management of the curriculum, faculty, academic policies and procedures for the College of Chiropractic. They will serve collaboratively on the administrative team and be responsible for the overall quality and delivery of student education, the continuing development and education of staff and faculty, and budgeting.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for management of faculty responsibilities as outlined in the Faculty Handbook.
  • Responsible for course management to include syllabi, course pass rates, and scheduling.
  • Responsible for course assessment and reporting outcomes related to program effectiveness.
  • Functions as liaison between student and faculty to ensure professional interactions and behaviors.
  • Works with the Dean to make recommendations for curriculum, faculty, students, and policies.
  • Maintain accurate records on all faculty members including, but not limited to, course(s) taught, syllabi, course content, and achievement of course student learning outcomes.
  • Assist with the creation and revision of the curriculum and student learning outcomes/objectives, measures, and targets; collection of findings and creation of action plans; and annual report writing.
  • Supervise meetings with division faculty and solicit faculty input for decision making,
  • Responsible for establishing teaching schedules in consultation with the faculty and assigning faculty to meet the needs of the curriculum.
  • Assist with the administration and planning of the OSCE examination.
  • Assist with the development and ongoing management of the accreditation meta-competency learning outcome (MCO) requirements.
  • Assist with accreditation and program reviews.
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and review of all policies that impact students and faculty.
  • Assist in preparing and proposing budget requests directly related to the mission of the college and university.
  • Observe and evaluate selected classes and faculty and make reports on observations in order to create, enhance, and encourage, a good educational environment.
  • Assist the Associate Dean’s to provide liaison between students and faculty to ensure professional interactions and behaviors.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Clinics and the Director of Clinical Education for the integration of classroom and clinical education.
  • To work closely with the Dean and Associate Dean’s on projects which impact the student’s academic experience. Contribute to establishment and implementation of short and long-range organizational goals, objectives, plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness, and changes required for improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments of the university to ensure students have the greatest opportunity for success.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews of faculty including development plans.
  • Engage in, encourage, and assist faculty with scholarly activities and the development of quality curriculum and instruction.
  • Make appropriate recommendations to the Dean for hiring new faculty members.
  • Cultivate in oneself and others an attitude of helpfulness, personal commitment to building relationships, managing to the best solution, and user friendly always.
Requirements
  • Active Georgia chiropractic license
  • Doctor of Chiropractic degree from an accredited program
  • Two years experience in chiropractic higher education
