BlueLinx is adding to its Human Resources Team!
The Human Resources Business Partner - HRBP will Partner with Director, Human Resources and leaders/employees throughout the business to ensure human resource policies and programs are aligned and administered appropriately based on BlueLinx' overall HR and talent strategies.
In addition, The Human Resources Business Partner - HRBP will Administer core human resources policies, processes and practices related to talent management, employee relations, labor/union relations, compensation, benefits, performance management, and organizational/individual development.
KEY TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Partners with leaders to identify and implement actions that improve or maintain a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and integrity. that provides a great employee experience.
  • Consults with business unit management in the strategic planning process and development of human resources strategies that support the unit's business needs. Works with business leaders on strategic and tactical human resource issues.
  • Partners with leaders to develop talent.
  • Assists field management with collective bargaining agreement interpretation and participates in grievance procedures.
  • Investigates and resolves employee and labor relations issues in consultation with legal counsel.
  • Works with managers to ensure compliance in accordance with federal, state, and local employment requirements, (e.g., FMLA, Workers' Compensation, Title VII, ADA, EEOC, ADEA, FLSA, OSHA, etc.)
  • Develops, recommends, and implements human resources processes, systems, products, and services to managers and employees.
  • Supports and consults both employees and managers on correct interpretation and administration of company policies.
  • Assists management in maintaining positive employee relations by assessing the internal employee climate.
  • Acts as a liaison to other human resources functions when necessary.
  • Leads or participates in HR projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Develops and/or delivers internal communication materials regarding benefits, compensation, and other business/human resources policies and procedures.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in related area of responsibility.
  • PHR, SPHR a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Previous unionized workgroup and collective bargaining agreement interpretation experience a plus
  • Ability to make recommendations that effectively resolve problems and/or issues by using judgment consistent with HR standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations or governmental law.
  • Knowledge of HR Best Practices.
  • Strong knowledge of company policies, labor laws and regulations relating to all employment functions.
  • Knowledge of HRIS and proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite Software and relevant tools/technology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and translate business needs into HR initiatives and actions.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
