About the Role:
- The Billing and Collections Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate invoicing, reconciliation, and collection of outstanding payments for complex accounts.
- This position serves as the main point of contact for internal and external customers regarding billing and collection issues, while also assisting in process improvements and payment recording to maximize revenues.
- Research and respond to complex patient inquiries regarding billing issues
- eview billing forms for accuracy before submission to payors
- Assist in preparing monthly billing and accounts receivable reports
- Address complex billing issues, including verifying patient eligibility with insurance carriers
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of insurance, demographic, and eligibility information into the system
- Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and other relevant regulations and company policies
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years of experience in a Billing, membership enrollment, member services, claims operations, or Finance role
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on department goals
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with firm deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to handle challenging customers with a positive attitude
