Description And QualificationsThe Employee Relations Program Manager (ERPM) is responsible for directly impacting the LifeCenter Northwest (LifeCenter) employee experience and driving culture through employee relations, performance management, organizational engagement, DEI and other various PR initiatives. The ERPM will build strong partnerships and collaborate across the PR function to deliver value-added service to leaders and employees. The ERPM acts as an advocate, upholding organizational values and helping to foster a culture of inclusivity that supports the overall mission of LifeCenter Northwest.
Essential Job Functions General Responsibilities
  • Build trusted and consultative relationships with leaders, cross-functional partners and PR team members.
  • Identify leadership development and coaching opportunities and partner with PR and Learning & Development team to develop approaches as applicable.
  • Provides support to leaders and employees to ensure smooth introductory period for new employees, including leading the 90-day check in process with employees, tracking trends and feedback and providing real-time feedback to leadership, PRO team and PR Director as applicable. Identifies onboarding improvement needs and partners with management to ensure employee has tools for success.
  • Drives organizational culture, and related initiatives, in line with the values of the organization.
  • Leads the employee stay and exit interview processes, tracking trends and feedback and providing data to leadership, PRO team and PR Director as applicable. Identifies areas where dissatisfaction/attrition could cause organizational risk and collaborates with departmental leadership to address concerns.
  • Participate in the development, enhancements and roll out of people related programs, processes, and policies in alignment with business goals and objectives .
  • Partners with PR Director and leadership to effectively support organizational change initiatives.
  • Provide input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning. Supports PRO Team and PR Director on organization wide efforts.
  • Champion and support LifeCenter’s culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Partners with the PRO Team to review compliance with federal and applicable state regulations, monitors Donation Service Area (DSA) regulatory agencies for updates impactful to the organization.
  • Partner closely with PRO team to create, deliver and implement process improvements, policies, procedures, and various other PRO initiatives. May take the lead on projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Build strong relationships with staff at all levels and assist in strategic PRO discussions with managers.
  • Provides guidance and direction and facilitates employee relations issues. When necessary, conduct thorough PRO investigations.
  • Assists managers with introductory review process. Maintains records and supports managers with performance management efforts.
  • Partners with the PRO team to respond to state Unemployment Insurance claims.
  • Leads the employee engagement/pulse survey program and cycle: data analysis, materials preparation, departmental presentations, leadership support and action planning follow up.
Performance Management
  • Develops and adapts the LifeCenter performance management philosophy in partnership with the PRO team and leadership.
  • Leads the performance management process and discussions with leadership, in collaboration with the PR Generalist.
  • Manages and trains leadership on tools and processes associated with performance management.
  • Partners with PR Director on performance management process and discussions with leaders.
  • Provides consultative support to leaders including coaching on how to deliver feedback and best practices.
Employee Relations
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations when needed.
  • In collaboration with PR Director serves as lead to obtain external support when necessary.
  • Provides support for employees with concerns; follows up as necessary.
  • Provides consultative support to leaders including coaching, conflict resolution support and best practices.
  • Maintains a scalable and functional process for documentation and recordkeeping surrounding employee relations.
Employee Engagement
  • Project lead for ongoing employee engagement feedback process.
  • Provides coaching and support for leaders in how to best apply feedback received from their teams.
  • Provides basic system support to leaders and partners with software provider for any additional support needed.
  • As necessary, prepares relevant materials for Senior Leadership Team
  • Identifies organizational trends that should be highlighted or addressed and partners with PR Director for addressing any concerns.
  • Develops and reviews PR policies and processes, as requested by departmental leadership.
Supervision
  • This position is responsible for the direct work supervision and delegation/assignment of work tasks for the People Resources Generalist. The position serves as an advisor and consultant for the organization and coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
Other Responsibilities
  • Participates in, and may lead, employee committees and events.
  • Performs other related duties as required by the needs of the company and the leadership team.
  • Complies with applicable laws, regulations, and LifeCenter policies and procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Proven expertise in building relationships and maintaining business partnerships through collaboration and consulting.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data to identify insights, communicate trends and develop solutions to support the employee experience.
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work in a matrixed, fast paced, constantly changing and sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in critical thinking. Solution-oriented and proactive in identifying issues.
  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills, i.e., diplomacy, consideration, sensitivity, confidentiality, and the ability to collaborate with employees at all levels.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong working skills in Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Project, Power Point, and other comparable software programs.
  • Experience working with an HRIS/PRIS system

Physical Activities/Requirements
  • The individual must have the ability to communicate clearly using the English language to accurately convey information and be able to hear at normal speaking levels both in person and over the phone.
  • Travel requirements out of the general work area are infrequent.
  • This position requires the ability to effectively operate phones, computers, and other office equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include reviewing material on and off screen.
  • Generally, working conditions do not require exposure to hazardous materials nor extremes in health and safety hazards. Work is normally performed in an office or hospital setting, as well as other business environments.
  • The employee is required to move up to 25 pounds with or without assistance.
ANTICIPATED WEEKLY TIME COMMITMENT
  • The duties of this position will typically require 37 hours per week. Because of the nature of this position, the incumbent may need to work outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends, sometimes without advance notice.
Education, Experience & Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience
  • Relevant work experience can be considered and substituted for academic requirements
  • PPR designation, SPRM-CP or equivalent preferred
  • 5 years progressive Human/People Resources experience
  • Progressive experience with employee relations and conducting investigations
  • Experience in the performance management process and discussions with d emonstrated courage in providing critical feedback to leaders and employees regarding employment policies and practices
