Description
LifeCenter Organ Donor Network is looking for a Full Time Family Services Coordinator to join our team.
This role requires compassionate and effective communication and the ability to be comfortable working with families who are experiencing sudden loss. The ideal candidate will have a skill set of empathy, active listening, self-awareness and compassion. This role involves leading discussion with potential donor families about the gift of organ, tissue and eye donation. In addition, this position will provide support to families throughout the donation process.
Requirements
- Prefer a college degree in the area of Social Services, Nursing, Communications, Grief Counseling, Education/Teaching. Equivalent background/work experience will be considered.
- Must be able to be on-call in a rotating call schedule and work at various hours including late nights and early mornings. Will need to be available for a 24-hour call shift
- A compassionate person with an understanding of the grief process who is comfortable talking about death and end of life options
- LifeCenter provides extensive training for the position of Family Services Coordinator. This ensures a strong foundation for success and a thorough understanding of the ongoing responsibilities of this vital role.
- Must be an advocate for organ, tissue and eye donation
- Flexibility of working in an office setting as well as in multiple hospitals
- Very strong communication skills with attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Commitment to being timely and supportive to family needs while providing exceptional support
