What is the opportunity?

LifeMine Therapeutics is seeking an experienced, highly motivated translation and clinical development data science leader. This senior director will establish our translational and clinical development data science capabilities in bringing our 1st drug candidate into the clinics.

The ideal candidate is excellent at leading a high performing team at the intersection of cutting-edge data science and biological and clinical science with a deep understanding and grasp of scientific and business context of drug discovery and development, working collaboratively across disciplines, and having demonstrated track record of delivering results and insights critical to project progression.

As a senior leader of data science team, this role will contribute to the evolution of LifeMine’s data science team by leading the introduction and adoption of new data, technology, tools, best practices. Responsibilities

• Translation and clinical biomarkers:

-Lead the establishment of translational and clinical data science capabilities with the breadth covering multi-omics, real world evidence, clinical biomarker analytical and data management, adoption of artificial intelligence for areas such as digital pathology.

-Collaborate with translational team in formulating translation questions, establishing and delivering translational data package for our lead program.

-Collaborate with clinical team in establishing clinical biomarker plan. Lead biomarker data analysis and management. Formulate innovative clinical questions for rich data sets we will be generating to inform product development, and next generation programs.

-Work with senior leaders of LifeMine in delivering key data and insights supporting business and corporate development activities using real world data.

-Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including R&D Informatics, Artificial Intelligence, IT to implement solutions and delivering results.

• Discovery

- Collaborate with discovery biology team in identifying and prioritizing targets by leading the use of human genetics and integrated computational biology approaches such as pathway and system biology.

-Supervise data science team in collaboration with Platform team to deliver multi-omics solutions for compound retrieval.

• Management and leadership

-Supervise and develop direct reports.

-Be the thought leader and scientific resources for the team and company.

• Keep abreast of the latest scientific and technological developments. Champion and lead the adoption with a sound judgement of scientific and business impacts.

• Lead the generation of scientific documents including internal documents and external publications.

What you’ll need to be successful:

• Ph.D. in computational biology, bioinformatics or related fields.

• 10 years post graduate experience.

• Demonstrated capability leading data science supporting translation and clinical development is a must.

• Experiences with immunology or immune-oncology programs is a plus.

• Demonstrated leadership experience supervising, mentoring, and developing team members is a must.

• Deep understanding and demonstrated experience applying cutting-edge data science best practices supporting data driven translation and phase 1&2 clinical program is a must. Experiences and expertise in the following areas are highly desirable: multi-omics including single cell sequencing, real world data and evidence, artificial intelligence and machine learning in image analysis.

• Solid grounding in immunology or immuno-oncology to understand the context and implications of data, which aids in hypothesis generation and data interpretation.

• Demonstrated track record driving and delivering data science outcome into program impacting actions.

• Experience with data management, data visualization tools such as spotfire, tableau, PowerBI is a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate with and build strong working relationships with diverse business partners.

• Extremely curious and intellectually capable of developing an understanding of business and scientific contexts.
