Lifeworks Services, Inc. is Hiring a Billing Specialist Near Richfield, MN

DescriptionLifeworks is seeking a Billing Specialist to Complete the process for billing and collection of receivables for the organization. The Billing Specialist will work in our Richfield office, in a hybrid capacity.
Position Title: Billing Specialist
Department: Finance
Hours: Full-time ; 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday (Non-Exempt)
Location: Lifeworks Services – Richfield / 20% in-person
Compensation: $22.00/hr

How You’ll Be Spending Your Time
  • Process organization’s various billing – this includes the creation, importing and distribution of invoices.
  • Collaborating with client or customers, third party institutions and other team members to resolve billing inconsistencies and errors.
  • Enter and reconcile cash receipts and record invoice payments.
  • Assist to maintain outstanding balances within a margin of 5% or less of the total revenue.
  • Manage outstanding accounts, producing and mailing statements.
  • Assist with the monthly accounts receivable closing.
  • Maintain documentation and filing.
  • Provide backup for other positions within the accounting department.
  • Follow safety procedures and assist in identifying safety needs for self and others.
  • Contribute to the organization's mission by complying with Lifeworks policies and procedures using resources wisely and performing other duties that may be assigned as necessary.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED with two or more years of related work experience required.
  • Associate degree with two years of Medicare billing preferred.
  • Experience billing through MNITS preferred.
  • Knowledge of computers, spreadsheet applications and financial databases.
  • Proficient in 10-key application, Word, Excel and accounting software, Microsoft Dynamics SL preferred.
  • Fluent in English, verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Candidate must complete and pass a pre-employment background study and drug screen, and have access to reliable transportation for work purposes.
