• Coach, mentor and direct on-the-job training of all new department employees including transfers to or moves within the department. This includes the detailed management of the training matrix to ensure full coverage is available for all positions within the department through all potential staff availability scenarios.
• Insure work standards, work instructions and quality checks are performed and updated properly through observations and audits, facilitating corrective actions when desired outcomes are not achieved.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and may make recommendations for improvement implementation.
• Champion safety in the department by setting an example, fostering a safe work environment, holding team accountable for compliance with all LTI safety policies and procedures including 5S, and participating in safety investigations, ensuring timely reporting, investigating and resolving all safety incidents with the department.
• Champion quality in the department by assisting coordinator with the timely investigation, corrective action implementation and monitoring for all quality checks.
• Identify and mitigate risks within the department associated when the time standard cannot be achieved (man, method, materials or machine variation from normal).
• Review and respond to customer issues and process audit trends that highlight weak points in the process by implementing process improvements or heightened controls.
• Performa direct labor as required to maintain efficient production.
