Light Action, Inc. is Hiring an Entertainment Production Sales Associate Near Wilmington, DE

Light Action Productions is in search of a skilled Production Sales Associate with entertainment project management experience and/or event production management experience to join our team to drive our sales initiatives, ensuring smooth alignment between production capabilities and market needs. The Production Sales Associate, will play a vital role in elevating our production events and seizing sales opportunities, contributing significantly to our operational efficiency and revenue expansion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all production equipment and their optimal applications.
  • Proactively work with customers to understand their requirements and recommend appropriate production equipment solutions.
  • Work with project managers and COO to facilitate proper budgeting, quotation generation, and invoice finalization.
  • Prepare quotes and sales orders and accurately record customer requests, product specifications, and pricing to facilitate seamless invoicing.
  • Collaborate with project managers, customers, technicians, and warehouse managers to ensure production solutions meet event objectives and to ensure successful delivery of projects and equipment.
  • Balance client's creative needs with company profitability while defining project scopes with customers.
  • Review entertainment production drawings and bid specifications to develop comprehensive bid packages for productions.
  • Manage time and projects to achieve time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Communicate project status and performance updates with production team, as required.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers throughout event processes to ensure appropriate staffing levels and address real-time needs.
  • Deliver comprehensive technical sales and marketing presentations to customers covering all production equipment.
  • Provide support and training to customers on equipment installation and usage.
  • Conduct thorough technical sales and marketing presentations to customers, providing comprehensive insights into all aspects of production, production equipment and installs.
  • Assist customers by facilitating all rental needs, including quote writing, order confirmation, transfer management, post-show billing, and business expansion initiatives.
  • Coordinate internally with sales managers and externally with customers to manage gear availability, change orders, logistics, and other customer needs.
  • Work closely within the warehouse rentals team to provide pre-show sales support and coordinate orders.
  • Identify and promote future sales opportunities and new customers through networking and on-site interactions.
  • Interface with other operations and sales staff to ensure smooth coordination.
  • Utilize Office Suite and HireTrack to prepare quotes, sales orders, and related documents efficiently.
  • Strive for the highest level of customer satisfaction in all interactions.
  • Manage incoming sales calls during evening and weekend hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with event production (e.g., planning, organizing, and executing events, from small festivals to large concerts) and/or project management experience involving planning, executing, and overseeing entertainment productions that meet specific goals within constraints such as time, cost, scope, and equipment.
  • Understanding the features, benefits, and applications of the products or services being sold.
  • Familiarity with the industry, market trends, competitor products, and customer needs.
  • Knowledge of various sales techniques, such as consultative selling, relationship building, and objection handling.
  • Understanding of the sales process from prospecting and qualifying leads to closing deals and post-sales support.
  • Knowledge of company policies, pricing structures, and sales strategies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively articulate product features, benefits, and value propositions to potential customers.
  • Ability to negotiate terms, pricing, and agreements with customers to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Skill in building and maintaining relationships with customers to foster loyalty and repeat business.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet sales targets within deadlines.
  • Aptitude for identifying customer needs, addressing objections, and finding solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Proficiency in delivering engaging and persuasive sales presentations to potential customers.

JOB TYPE: Full-time

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  • Three years of proven experience in production sales and/or production installation sales and/or production rental equipment sales, required
  • Three years of proven experience in event production and/or entertainment project management
  • Knowledge of inventory/rental software (HireTrack), a plus

LICENSES

  • Driver’s license, required

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing, preferred.

WORK SCHEDULE: Normal operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.

Frequent overtime, evenings, and weekends.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and talk or hear and remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. The employee is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms. The employee must have the ability to verbally effectively communicate with staff and customers. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must have the ability to stay alert and attentive at all times and operate a computer, phone and essential equipment as required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
