Light Steering Technologies, Inc. is Hiring an Electrical Engineer / FPGA / Digital Design Near Manchester, NH

Job DescriptionAbout Light Steering Technologies, Inc.Light Steering Technologies, Inc. helps customer improve system performance and / or reduce overall system cost, Light Steering Technologies, Inc engineers and manufactures groundbreaking Pointing, Scanning, and Line of Sight Stabilization Payload Systems. Our patented technology redefines the standard for large aperture scanning performance while also improving size, weight, and power (SWaP).
Essential FunctionsThe Electrical Engineer will perform the following:
  • Support proposal efforts in the estimation and planning of end-to-end Digital & FPGA development.
  • Decompose and allocate system and box-level requirements to FPGA, Processor and Digital Signal Processor requirements and specifications.
  • Architect solutions against requirements and implement those solutions in various FPGA, Processor, and Digital Signal Processor technologies or platforms.
  • Lead small teams of engineers in executing digital development of highly reliable and robust digital designs.
  • Follow, enforce, and refine consistent firmware / software development processes across the digital designs.
  • Develop VHDL and SW code for module and top level and generate appropriate test bench and verification environments.
  • Map FPGA simulation work products to system-level requirements and capabilities.
  • Synthesize designs to targeted technologies and perform constraint driven place and route and analysis.
  • Ensure FPGA simulations verify performance, then integrate and test the FPGA on the circuit card assembly.
  • Experience building FPGAs with timing and/or routing constraints
  • Experience with development of FPGA requirements and specifications.
  • Hands-on execution of product integration and verification testing and debug
  • Define and perform prototyping and characterization experiments
  • PCB Circuit Design from high-level architecture, through component selection, schematic capture, and layout review
  • Design complex multi-layer PCB's with FPGA's, Power supplies, ADC's and high- and low-speed digital interfaces
  • Experienced with floating-point real-time implementations
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering
  • 5 years of experience
  • US Citizenship is required
Preferred Additional Skills
  • Experience with motor drives and position encoders highly desirable
  • Algorithm Development
  • Ability to obtain Secret or Top Secret security clearance
  • Version control tools (subversion, git, etc.)
  • Designing for space environments
  • High speed memory interfaces
  • High speed serial protocols (PCI Express, SRIO, Ethernet)
  • Analog to Digital (AD) and Digital to Analog (DA) interfaces
  • Control protocols such I2C, SPI, RS-232/422, and SpaceWire
  • Network interfaces and protocols
  • Linting and CDC analysis tools
  • Xilinx, Microsemi, Intel, and Altera Tool Suites (VHDL, Synthesis, Place and Route, Simulation, Timing Analysis)
  • Work in an integrated team environment with Hardware, Software, and Systems Engineering
