LIGHTFEATHER IO LLC is Hiring a Quality Assurance Automation Lead Near Mc Lean, VA

LightFeather is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Assurance Automation Lead to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the performance of software test plan development and execution, ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance in our software products.
This Position is Remote Hybrid (2-3 Days/Week On Site). Must be local to the DC Metro area, or willing to relocate.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement efficient and effective testing strategies, test conditions, and test scripts for projects.
  • Ensure appropriate testing coverage and requirements traceability through the creation, implementation, and enhancement of comprehensive test plans, test cases/user stories, test steps, and test automation.
  • Define clear expectations for all testing tasks, including inputs and outputs.
  • Implement test tools to support test automation, performance testing, and code coverage (e.g., Selenium, SonarQube).
  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, scripts, and create test data for Agile Software Development teams, including functional, integration, regression, data integrity, and stress testing.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring successful completion of user stories and associated test criteria.
  • Identify gaps and deficiencies in business requirements, technical specifications, designs, and testing documentation for completeness and testability.
  • Track defects and report key metrics to proactively identify areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate the setup of test environments for all planned test execution activities.
  • Manage change processes such as build promotions to UAT and Production environments.
  • Decompose requirements into detailed test cases for functional and regression test execution.
  • Facilitate effective interaction and coordination between government Project Leads.
  • Identify resource constraints and other potential schedule issues and risks.
  • Implement testing and configuration management methodologies to support continuous integration.
  • Manage integrated teams to support sprint planning.
  • Oversee all aspects of configuration management planning including configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, configuration audits, and configuration documentation.
  • Develop plans, assign tasks, monitor performance, communicate progress, resolve conflicts, and escalate issues as necessary.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • US Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance; previous or active DHS ICE clearance is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
  • Quality Assurance Institute (QAI) Certified Software Test Engineer (CSTE).
  • DHS Section 508 Trusted Tester certification (required within 6 months of hire).
  • 8 ) years relevant experience in an enterprise IT environment.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing efficient and effective testing strategies.
  • Experience in testing within an Agile Software Development environment.
  • Technical proficiency with SQL, including the ability to create queries to validate data integrity and other data constraints.
  • Experience with test tools for automation and performance testing (e.g., Selenium, SonarQube).
  • Experience managing integrated teams and supporting sprint planning.
  • Comprehensive understanding of software testing types and methods to support Agile Software Development.
  • Experience managing the change processes and coordinating test environments.
  • Strong ability to track defects and report key metrics.
  • Proficient in development of plans, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and resolving conflicts.
  • Proven ability to identify resource constraints and potential schedule issues.
  • Experience in government or highly regulated environments is a plus.
