Lighthouse Youth & Family Services is looking for a dedicated Part Time and PRN Young Adult Care Specialist for our homeless shelter. The Sheakley Center is a homeless shelter for 18 to 24-year-old designed to end homeless episodes as quickly as possible.
Full Time Tuesday though Saturday 2nd and 3rd shift
Essential Functions:
Must be a role model providing direct care, supervision, crisis interventions and documentation of daily activities.
Prepare meals, facilitating group sessions, and outings, providing security, observation, housekeeping, preparing medication completing intakes, shift paperwork and other duties as assigned.
Provide direct supervision of youth and facility throughout the work shift.
Supervise activities, chores, hygiene, and bedtimes times by following program schedule.
Assist team by completing paperwork related to program outcomes. Document any significant events that occur during the shift in a daily log, service ticket and/or progress note.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED required.
At least 25 years old due to driving requirement for the position.
At least 6 months of experience working with youth required. Experience working with youth in a residential setting preferred.
Valid driver's license and good driving record with ability to operate a 15-passenger van to transport youth as needed.
Good written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual and/or Sign Language proficiency a plus.
