The VP, Controller is responsible for overseeing the company financial activities and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. This leadership role plays a crucial part in managing our accounting operations, analyzing financial information, and providing strategic recommendations to the senior leadership team.
Work location: Clearwater, FL, or Denver, COPrimary Duties And Responsibilities
  • Direct oversight of day-to-day and monthly transactions and accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to support the company's goals and objectives to ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Overall responsibility with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate completion of audits and tax filings.
  • Drive and manage the treasury function, including cash flow management, banking relationships, and investment strategies.
  • Lead the accounting team, providing guidance and support in areas such as financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, payroll and evolve systems and processes to ensure accurate detailed financial reporting.
  • Strong management and leadership skills, with an excitement to both roll up your sleeves and be a thoughtful, company-wide partner; Hire, develop, and lead a high-performing teams.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and financial activities and details, such as cash flow, reserve levels, revenue recognition, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in financial management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support strategic decision-making and provide financial analysis and insights.
  • Oversee vendors and contracts, negotiate terms, manage renewals, and eliminate inefficiencies.
Qualifications, Skills & KnowledgePrior executive/senior leadership experience in a telecommunications/cable/MSO, PE or similar environment.
  • 7-10 yrs. senior leadership exp., 3-5 yrs. industry exp. ($300M>, med size company)
  • Experience in derivative pricing or market risk a plus.
  • Intellectual Agility: The ability to seek input, make connections, and recognize patterns that lead to effective decision-making and action.
  • Growth Orientation: The ability and instinct to identify and capitalize on a wide variety of opportunities to grow earnings and the business.
  • Expert Excel chops, including modeling and data analytics.

  • Highly analytical; excellent problem-solving skills; ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
  • Prior experience leading and motivating teams across geographic regions, time zones, and business entities and operate effectively across matrix organizations.
  • Verifiable relationship management skills with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (both written and spoken)

EducationBachelor's degree in finance, economics or Accounting; CPA, ERP experience
