This is a remote, work from home position that works most often in the MST time zone. Applicants must be able to work a schedule that aligns.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing and analyzing journal entries.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Track and record fixed assets, ensuring proper depreciation and asset management.
- Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and assist in variance analysis.
- Aid in the preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Assist in ensuring internal controls are followed and documented for general ledger processes.
- Support external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities, providing financial analysis as needed.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and support the implementation of solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of accounting experience (internships or related experience preferred).
- Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) with a strong understanding of double entry accounting and the financial statements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
