Functioning within the Health System’s mission, values, objectives, procedures and policies, the registered cardiovascular technologist assists the physician and/or radiologist with a variety of angiographic procedures including invasive vascular treatments and interventional exams. Responsibilities include production of high quality angiographic imaging, utilizing fluoroscopy and cineangiography, identifying and labelling hemodynamics, correlating EKGs and hemodynamics to angiographic findings, and performing vascular hemostasis. The Cardiovascular Technologist also reviews patient’s history, gathers and prepares equipment, and documents in patient charts, must demonstrate flexibility with work schedule changes and be “on call” per department requirements, which include being continuously available to be on-site within thirty (30) minutes.
Education: Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) accredited radiography program.
Licensure/Certification: Certified registered technologist of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Cardiovascular Registered or Board eligible. Registry required within 1 year of eligibility. Certified by the Ohio Department of Health. BLS required or obtained at first available training class after hire. ACLS required or to be completed within six months of hire.
Experience: Previous experience preferred.
Skills: Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to exhibit patience and tact and maintain a professional and courteous demeanor in all situations with all constituents including patients, physicians and other associates. Must also demonstrate flexibility with work schedule changes, be cooperative and collaborative, and have the documented ability to work with speed and proficiency while under stress.
