Lima Memorial Health System is Hiring a PRN RN - Emergency Center Near Lima, OH
Functioning within the Health System’s mission, vision, values, policies and procedures, the Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients on his/her shift. RN responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care using age specific criteria. Judgments are made based upon scientific knowledge and clinical skills. The RN also assists in planning, directing and teaching non-RN staff such as LPN/PCT and Unit Secretaries. Must demonstrate flexibility with work schedule changes and be “on call” per department requirements within a sixty (60) minute response time.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED) is required. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Must have a valid unrestricted RN license with the Ohio Board of Nursing. Current BLS required.
Experience: One to three years’ experience specific to physician office practice or Health System preferred. Must show competency in the practice of nursing. Emergency Department experience within the last 2 years preferred. Completed VI Internship program with the EC rotations allowed as experience. ACLS, TNCC, and PALS classes and Trauma Core Nurse training required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire date. Cardiac monitor training required.
Skills: Must have excellent “customer service” skills, including the ability to exhibit patience and tact with all constituents including physicians, patients and associates. Must also be cooperative and collaborative, and have the ability to work efficiently while in stressful situations. Basic computer skills and EMR (electronic medical records) experience also required.
Required competencies include assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care. The RN also assists in planning, directing, and teaching non-professional staff. S/he makes judgements based upon scientific knowledge and procedures and policies of the Department of Nursing. Assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients.
