Limitless Possibilities, LLC is Hiring a Behavioral Health Specialist Near Appleton, WI

Job Summary: The Behavioral Health Specialist works directly with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and behavioral health concerns. The Behavioral Health Specialist works closely with management to provide ongoing support and monitoring to ensure the clients receive the best possible care. The Behavioral Health Specialist carries out responsibilities related to support plan development and implementation, compliance, staff training, and communication. At times the Behavioral Health Specialist may also carry out responsibilities related to referrals, assessments, placement, and the development of new programs.

Job Duties

  • Support Plan Development, Monitoring, and Assessment: The Behavioral Health Specialist assists in the development of Behavior Support Plans. The Behavioral Health Specialist promotes interdisciplinary team feedback, satisfaction, and overall management of service delivery. The Behavioral Health Specialist helps to develop, modify, and track the effectiveness of behavior and other support plans including positive replacement behaviors, community integration skills, and restrictive measures when appropriate. The Behavioral Health Specialist promotes person-centered and individualized support. The Behavioral Health Specialist spends time observing in the programs.
  • Compliance and Accreditation: The Behavioral Health Specialist maintains knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations to ensure compliance. The Behavioral Health Specialist assists with work done on The Council on Quality and Leadership (CQL) accreditation activities. The Behavioral Health Specialist maintains knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and ensures the safety of all residents and employees.
  • Collaborate: The Behavioral Health Specialist will collaborate with the Behavioral Health Manager and, as needed, with other departments such as Operations, Quality Assurance, Human Resources, and Finance to ensure the effective operation of services.
  • Staff Training: The Behavioral Health Specialist provides training and support to employees to improve their ability to provide effective care to clients including onboarding, annual updates, and training within the programs, especially when a new client begins services or if there is a significant change to a support plan. The Behavioral Health Specialist spends time doing in the moment coaching in the programs.
  • Communication: The Behavioral Health Specialist works with the management team to promote, develop, and maintain effective communication processes. The Behavioral Health Specialist acts as a professional representative of the company to clients' guardians, care teams, family members, physicians, and other professionals; government agencies; managed care organizations; and other stakeholders.
  • Organizational Participation: The Behavioral Health Specialist is familiar with the mission, vision, and values of the company.
  • Documentation: The Behavioral Health Specialist is aware of the requirements for documentation and is able to manage these requirements efficiently. The Behavioral Health Specialist reviews General Event Reports and data related to behaviors. The Behavioral Health Specialist works with staff and management to ensure proper documentation is happening.
  • Professionalism: The Behavioral Health Specialist pursues knowledge and information necessary to perform job duties, follows ethical practices, maintains confidentiality, and builds professional relationships with supervisors and employees.

Qualifications

  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or other behavioral-health-related field preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience providing professional services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or mental health concerns
  • A valid driver's license and a driving record which allows the candidate to be covered by a company insurance policy
  • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to reason and evaluate, exercise good judgment, and effectively solve problems
  • Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills, and the ability to work with a wide array of individuals
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to work autonomously, with minimal direction
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including those related to health, safety, and care for individuals with disabilities and behavioral health needs
  • Maintain a respectful relationship with clients and employees of residential facilities
  • Knowledge of technology sufficient to use company computer hardware and software, web-based technology, and handheld devices
  • While performing the duties of this job, the Behavioral Health Specialist is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The Behavioral Health Specialist is frequently required to stand, talk, and hear.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
