Position Title: Associate Director // Worship Leader
Reports to: Director of Worship
Status: Full-time, Ministry Staff (45 hours/week)
Schedule: Tuesday - Friday, Saturday 4PM-8:30PM, Sunday 8AM-12:30PM

Job Purpose and Goals:

The position of Associate Director of Worship is primarily responsible for leading the church in corporate worship, developing the worship team volunteers, overseeing planning and execution to stay in line musically with the process of the ministry, contributing to LBC’s creative process, and communicating effectively with the worship team, band, and others that support the Worship Arts Ministry. This person must be sure of their calling into vocational ministry and demonstrate a heart to serve.

We are looking for someone who loves Jesus more than anything, is musically gifted, and who is committed to giving God glory as the gathered church praises Him together.

The five Key Roles for this ‘seat’ are:

  • Weekend Stage Leadership
  • Service Planning
  • LMA Volunteers
  • Resourcing Ministry Areas
  • Worship Nights and Other Events

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Weekend Stage Leadership

  • Presents and promotes a biblical attitude and understanding of worship from the platform
  • Promotes a healthy understanding of using gifts and talents in leading worship
  • Weekend Worship Leader
    • Spiritually lead the church in a way that points them to Christ
    • Lead vocally for majority of songs
    • Spoken transitions
    • Lead band in conjunction with MD
    • Freedom to make artistic execution decisions based on flow of service
    • Lead/co-lead twice a month, fill on-stage weekend role once a month, present on remaining Sundays for shepherding/coaching volunteers

Service Planning

  • Execute Weekly Planning meeting with team according to creative vision from Series Planning Meeting
  • Assist with planning logistics as needed
  • Explore new creative elements for services

LMA Volunteers

  • Regularly meet with and lead volunteers through spiritual aspects of life and serving in ministry
  • Hold volunteers accountable to standards and expectations set forth by ministry area; logistical and spiritual
  • Give constructive feedback to singers and musicians to help them grow
  • Participate in audition processes

Resourcing Ministry Areas

  • Collaborate with Next Gen staff to oversee musical worship in Next Gen ministries
  • Resource Next Gen worship leaders with the necessary tools to plan
  • Attend the practice and/or musical worship portion of a Next Gen gathering twice a semester

Worship Nights and Other Events

  • Schedule events during yearly planning/event forecasting in collaboration with Director of Worship Arts and Corporate Gathering MDT
  • Lead planning of songs and worship elements
  • Collaborate with service planning team on scheduling of teams
  • Actively participate in leading the evening when scheduled
  • Lead worship in various services such as, weddings, funerals, and baptisms
  • Assist with concerts when needed

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in Ministry
  • 1 year of experience leading worship
  • Ability to lead from an instrument (guitar, piano, or keys)
  • Basic working knowledge: ProPresenter, chord charts, Planning Center, stage plotting, and equipment set-up
  • Ability to lead, speak, and counsel from a Biblical worldview

Must make Lincoln Berean Church their home church and participate in the life of the community (Life Group).

  • Input from staff and volunteers
