Position Summary: This position directs the installation and take down of Zoo lights, to include hiring and managing staff during the Fall and Winter seasons. The Spring and Summer seasons will include caring for the Zoo’s plant collection and the general upkeep and maintenance of landscaped areas.
Essential Job Functions:
- Manage installation of seasons Zoo Lights event.
- Manage take down and storage of Zoo lights.
- Manage part-time staff, including hiring and scheduling.
- Assist Horticulture Manager.
- Perform installation and maintenance of ornamental gardens.
- Perform weed control, trimming, and mowing.
- Perform proper pruning and trimming of trees and shrubs.
- Manage ornamental pond maintenance.
- Apply pesticides and herbicides.
- Perform snow removal.
- All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- 3-5 years’ experience in a position managing people or projects
- Experience with holiday light decorating, preferred.
- Aerial Boom Lift Operator Certification, preferred.
- OSHA certification, preferred.
- Must be able to work in a 45ft boom lift
- Valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements
This position must be able to sustain strenuous physical labor for 4-6 hours a day, lift 15-40lbs frequently, and 40-60lbs occasionally.
Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outdoor conditions and inclement weather. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay: $42,240.00 - $45,760.00 per year
