The Lincoln County Health and Human Services Department is looking to add a Medical Biller (1 or 2) to their team to help in assisting with the administration of the largest department in the County. We are looking for someone who is reliable with a strong attention to detail.The person in this role will review medical claims, prior and subsequent to billing, to ensure accuracy and facilitate reimbursements. As well as applying bookkeeping methods to a variety of recording and auditing functions.HHS Building on Highway 101Medical Biller 1 (MB1): $21.56 - $25.01 DOEMedical Biller 2 (MB2): $23.28 - $26.99 DOEBenefits Include: Medical, Dental, and Vision Coverage.11% County Contribution into 401(k).Fully Funded Health Savings Account.$40,000 County Paid Life Insurance.Employee Assistance Programs.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Billing and Coding: Review charges prior to initial claims submission to ensure accuracy. Make corrections as needed, whether minor or major.Review outpatient medical and mental health claim denials and rejections for any coding errors, correct and resubmit claims as appropriate.Correct some major errors (e.g., Coding per payer billing requirements, Diagnosis ordering) identified by any Medical Biller 1. Route major errors requiring certified coder review as appropriate.Research insurance eligibility status and make adjustments.Financial: Post receipts, invoices, adjustments, and payments for all clinics in electronic health record system. Generate daily and monthly control reports for services and deposits.Maintain client account balances and bill various accounts.Prepare annual write-offs and purge financial records.Customer Service: Collect and receipt all client payments. Calculate adjustments on accounts.Answer client questions regarding insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid billings.Assist support staff and providers with billing questions.
