Job SummaryAct as a Liaison between electricians/leaders on manufacturing the floor and the controls engineering group. Electrical panel review and continuous improvement of standard practices and documents related to control panel manufacturing.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Review of customer and Fori specifications.
  • Participate in development of Fori control panel specifications, build practices and manufacturing checklist amendments.
  • Review incoming control panels for adherence to standards, design, and standard build practices (either at supplier site or Fori).
  • Document deviations and issues with incoming panel and communicate these to the supplier.
  • Coordinate with Controls Engineers regarding manufacturing issues and design changes.
  • Assist in ensuring that designs are consistent on the project.
  • Participate in internal and external design reviews of deliverables.
  • Review designs for compliance to either Fori or customer standards.
  • Deliver ‘redline’ drawing changes to the responsible controls engineer, maintain records of these changes, and follow up to be sure they were updated in the final drawings.
  • Participate in control panel wiring on the Fori floor as workload permits.
  • Perform start up and support of equipment in assigned areas and shall be able to operate and debug machinery.
  • Provide engineering liaison to field service department and drive changes/concerns back through engineering as required.
Education & Experience
  • Qualified journeyman electrician, or, electrical engineering degree (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively between engineering and floor personnel.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards, including NEC/NFPA, OSHA, and ANSI.
  • A background in control panel wiring and practices.
  • Experience with AutoCAD electrical or Eplan preferred.
  • Knowledge of industrial control circuits and wiring
  • Strong root cause and trouble shoot capabilities.
Physical Demand and Work Enviroment
  • Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is required to sit for long periods of time.
  • Work environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
