Lincoln Surgical Hospital is Hiring a Credentialing Specialist Near Lincoln, NE

Lincoln Surgical Hospital is a thriving organization looking for a candidate with exceptional organizational, time management and interpersonal skills for the role of a Credentialing Specialist.
Hours: Full time, 80 hours per pay period (2 weeks), Monday - Friday.
The professional in this position will coordinate medical staff credentialing and will function as a liaison between the Medical Staff, Administration and Clinical Leadership.
Key Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
  • Responsible for all aspects of provider credentialing, re-credentialing and privilege processes in accordance with regulatory requirements, standards, Medical Staff Bylaws and approved policies and procedures.
  • Prepares for Credentialing Committee meetings, including scheduling, meeting reminders, agenda and credentialing files and recording and processing of meeting minutes.
  • Performs research and obtaining information regarding all standards and requirements related to medical staff issues.
  • Maintains a current master copy of and is knowledgeable of Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations.
  • Responsible for establishing standardized credentialing applications, forms, letters, reports, etc. Processes all associated correspondence on all medical staff and allied health members;
  • Prepares initial and reappointment application packets and oversees the primary source verification process for all applications. Reviews all completed applications for completeness and for adverse trends and patterns; prepares physician profile; meets with the Medical Director to review the applications and privileges requested.
  • Participates in the CMS survey process and is responsible for the Medical Staff Standards Chapters. Responsible for continuous review of the Medical Staff Standards as they are updated to ensure that the Medical Staff is in compliance. Meets with surveyors during the survey process to answer questions and provide requested documentation
  • High school diploma or equivalent; minimum of an Associate’s Degree in business or a healthcare related field of study preferred or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Access, Excel, Publisher) and the ability to create and maintain databases of information.
  • Experience in Medical Staff Services, including credentialing, basic medical staff organizational structure, terminology and regulatory agency requirements desired.
