Job Summary

Linde is seeking a Project Design Engineer to join our team and lead cryogenic food processing projects from concept to completion. The successful candidate will work on multiple projects and interface with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. The core focus is designing and installing cryogenic freezing technologies for the food industry, which requires engineering calculations and recommendations specific to each project. The role also involves reviewing project-specific drawings, documenting project phases, and providing technical support to teams as needed. What you will be doing:

• Interface with customer as the face of Linde throughout all phases of project implementation
• Conduct Site surveys for equipment installation reviews
• Develop appropriate exhaust system calculations and recommendations for equipment on project specific basis.
• Develop appropriate piping system calculations and recommendations for equipment on project specific basis.
• Compile project schedule based on information from responsible groups to ensure all parties are working to meet established start update.
• May oversee contractor installations of piping, ductwork, insulation, etc.
• Prepares appropriate documentation for assigned project phases and prepares required reports and summaries to communicate project progress or results
• Demonstrates creativity and ingenuity in applying engineering principles and practices
• Develops, selects, and implements engineering techniques and solutions to solve difficult problems
• Participates in defining engineering approaches and in planning, prioritizing and scheduling work
• Ensures successful completion of assigned project phases within the budgeted time and cost constraints
• Prioritizes work and prepares engineering plans that accurately convey work sequence, priority and resource requirement
• Reviews and checks project specific drawings and data sheets to ensure compliance with design criteria and standards and makes design recommendations.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to team members on potential design and process improvements.
• May analyze costs and benefits of various solutions then makes recommendations.
• May lead field teams through installations, issue identification, analysis and repairs related to primary skill area
• Interfaces with internal and external customers/suppliers
• May provide technical and engineering support to Linde regions and/or plants.
• Provides technical guidance to newer professionals.
• Leads or participates on internal team for continuous improvement of in-house processes.

What makes you great:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical Engineering required.
• This position requires 40% - 60% travel.
• Must have a basic understanding of electrical systems.
• Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLC's a plus.
• Experience with cryogenics a plus.
• Experience with food processing equipment a plus.
